A Cave and a Hike

Yesterday, while Jake's parents explored Kartchner Caverns Jake, Sophie, and I went on a hike. Their tour lasted about an hour and a half, and lucky for us, there was a 2 1/2 mile hike around the mountain where the cave is - which was a perfect walk for the 3 of us.

The weather was beautiful - we had cloud coverage and a slight breeze the whole time.

Here's a map of where the cave is, along with the actual mountain at the site of that drawing. Pretty cool to think that there were people exploring underground beneath where we were hiking.

The cave also has a visitors center with a fake cave wall where you can practice squeezing through small spaces. Of course, if you're one and a half, those small spaces are just fun tunnels.

We love Karchner caverns! We went with the Blakes when we were down in Benson at Jaron and Audrey's reception. It is an amazingly beautiful drive to get there and the grounds are wonderful. Glad you had a good time.
