A Stage? (please?)

This is Sophie from like 1-6pm. She won't nap or even rest (she naps at like 10am for some reason), she just whines. Any suggestions?

Also, I think she's going through a growth spurt because she ate TWO bananas for a snack an hour ago, and is having a cup of juice now. Plus she can now reach the top level of her bookshelf, which was unattainable like yesterday.

yikes.
i guess i would just try hard to keep her up in the morning and put her in her crib after lunch. But you've probably tried that...

I know you haven't a clue who I am (or I you!), but I linked through to you ... and I think I may be able to help. How long does she sleep at 10 AM? If it's an hour, try to wake her up after 30 minutes. Whatever time she usually sleeps, cut it in half. Then she will be ready for an afternoon nap, no problem.

Hope this helps! And you can always come see me on my blog and I can offer other suggestions if you are interested.

Good luck!

These are sad, sad pictures. Did her head just keep getting sweatier and sweatier?

It sounds like she is transitioning to one nap a day. I agree with the other comments. Try to skip the morning nap or put it off as long as possible.

I am glad my kid is just studying for the Bar and not changing nap times. It's much easier

Yep, it's time to be a mean mom. Stick her in her crib with a sippy and a book- which she may or may not throw onto the floor. And let her cry . She can spend an hour crying with absolutely no harm done. She needs a nap and you need her to take one, so keep trying. She will figure it out. Sorry, cause this stage is tough.

Two bananas! That would plug anyone up. And who can sleep when they're all plugged up?? :)

they grow too quickly, huh?

does this mean that she's going to bed at 6pm? wow!

i suggest keeping her up a little later in the morning, try laying her down around 11:00ish and then keep pushing it back until after lunch. also, maybe bedtime should be pushed a little later, too. good luck!

It's better to have her like that from 10-11:30 than all afternoon. Try keeping her up til 11, feed her lunch, and then put her down. What time does she get up in the morning?
