Here's a picture of the kitchen. The cabinets are light wood, the counters are sort of a brown/tan/black granite, the floors are light tan travertine, and the walls will be warm gray.We originally had stainless, so that's what I've pictured in it, but now that's changed. I've heard that stainless is hard to clean, but I think it looks nice.
With money not a factor at all, what color appliances would you choose?

We have stainless appliances. They do show fingerprints etc. pretty easily, but are not that hard to clean. If you look in the grocery store there are have special "wipes" made for cleaning them and they work great. So if that's what you like go for it:)
Every HGTV show insists on stainless, and tv wouldn't lie.
I agree with Danny. Also I think stainless fits in almost any decor and adds a nice modern touch.
i have stainless and i hate them. i think the are trendy. i think they make my kitchen look dark. i think they are a pain to clean. i hate that my fridge isn't magnetic. i would switch to white appliances in a heartbeat. but that's just me. if you like stainless, go for it. it seems like they would match your new kitchen very well.
I really like my white appliances, I think that they brighten up our kitchen quite a bit, and clorox wipes are all it takes to make them sparkle. On the other hand, we were going for cheap when we bought them and also anything is better than the ivory/cream 1983 fridge that we had. Tough choice.
I think stephanie should have thought more carefully before bashing stainless. Stainless would go well, and we want white. Let's make a deal!
I love that Mike is such a deal maker.But are they taking the appliances with them?? Well, I am also a fan of white appliances. I just think they look clean and nice and brighten up the room.
black. magnetism is the motivator here. and it's easy to clean.
The black does show just about every bit of dust. I have cleaned houses for 2 years now and I woulnd never ever get a stainless appliance. They look good when they are clean but they don't stay clean very long, especially if you have kids.
I have black and I like them. Be sure to get a gas range or a flat stove, no coils! Sounds like a fancy kitchen and looks beautiful. I love granite and travertine. Trav flooring in the kitchen might be a bit of a pain to clean. I'm having a hard time picturing grey walls with those cabinents so I'm looking forward to photos:)
